Reef Fish Amendment 28: Revise Gulf of Mexico Red Snapper Catch Allocations

NOAA Fisheries has approved Amendment 28, which was developed by the Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council.  This amendment reallocates the red snapper stock annual catch limit between the commercial and recreational sectors from 51:49 percent to 48.5:51.5 percent, respectively.  NOAA Fisheries has also published a final rule revising the 2016 and 2017 commercial annual catch limits, recreational annual catch limits and annual catch targets, and the annual catch limits and annual catch targets for the private angling and federally permitted for-hire components within the recreational sector..
