**During December 2007, the Southeast Fisheries Science Center received dealer reported landings data from one South Atlantic state, which had not provided any data for 2006 or 2007. Dealer reported landings are included in the Accumulated Landings System (ALS), which is considered to be the official database for commercial landings information. Examination of these data revealed some dealers from the state in question handling snowy grouper had not been requested to provide data through the quota monitoring system. Furthermore, it was discovered one dealer responsible for landings in another state was not reporting to the quota monitoring system. As a result, the quota monitoring system was underestimating snowy grouper landings in 2007. Projection of ALS data indicated there was a good chance the snowy grouper quota was met by the end of December 2007.

Comparison of ALS with landings obtained from the quota monitoring system indicated landings of vermilion snapper, golden tilefish, black sea bass, red porgy, and greater amberjack were being tracked accurately. The additional dealers have been added and the quota monitoring system is now correctly tracking landings of snowy grouper. Landings for 2007 will be updated when data becomes available.

The Dolphin Wahoo Fishery Management Plan established a 1.5 million-pound cap for the dolphin commercial fishery. Landings are reported twice each year for the entire fishery from Florida to Connecticut. During January 1 through December 31, 2007, 62.43 percent of the 1.5 million-pound quota was landed (936,497 pounds).

Octocoral landings are reported twice a year with final landings reported by May of the next year. Total landings in federal waters for 2006 were 48,271 colonies, which is 96.5 percent of the 50,000-colony quota.

Wreckfish in the South Atlantic are under a quota of 2 million pounds. However, landings data are confidential beacause only a few fishers participate in this fishery. The fishing year is April 16 through April 15 each year.
