*The fishing year for all species is January 1 - December 31.

**** The Dolphin Wahoo Fishery Management Plan established a 1.5 million-pound cap for the dolphin commercial fishery for both northeast and southern Atlantic regions.  During January 1 through December 9, 2011, 39.38% of the 1.5 million-pound cap was landed (590,662 pounds).

*Commercial harvest of vermilion snapper closed on March 10, 2011, because NOAA Fisheries Service projected landings would reach the quota by that time.  The commercial sector for vermilion snapper in federal waters of the South Atlantic reopen May 1, 2011 through May 8, 2011

**Amendment 16 to the Snapper Grouper FMP divided the quota for vermilion snapper into two 6-month quotas: 315,523 pounds gutted weight (January-June) and 302,523 pounds gutted weight (July-December). If any quota remains in June, the remainder will carry over to the next 6 months and will be added to the 302,523 pounds for July-December. However, if quota remains in December, the remainder will not carry over into the next fishing year.

Octocoral landings are reported twice a year with final landings reported by May of the next year; therefore, these are the total landings for both Atlantic (57 trips) and Gulf (53 trips) in federal waters for 2011, reported in number of colonies.

Wreckfish in the South Atlantic are under a quota of 2 million pounds. However, landings data are confidential because only a few fishers participate in this fishery. The fishing year is April 16 through April 15 each year.
