Preliminary 2005 Gulf Commercial Red Snapper Landings for the Spring and Fall Season

 

The Southeast Fisheries Science Center has provided the following preliminary landings estimates for the spring and fall Gulf red snapper commercial fishery for the period February 1, 2005, through October 10, 2005. All landings have been converted to whole weight.

The 2005 commercial quota for Gulf red snapper is 4.65 million pounds. Therefore, 1,165,741 pounds remain in the 2005 quota. The commercial fishery will remain open until noon, local time, December 31, 2005. The operator of a vessel with a valid reef fish permit and a Class 1 or Class 2 red snapper license having red snapper aboard must have landed and sold such red snapper prior to noon, local time, December 31, 2005.
