Cast with Care

Interactions between marine life and recreational fishing gear puts animals at risk of serious injury or death, and can damage gear. Many protected or endangered species, such as bottlenose dolphins, sea turtles, and smalltooth sawfish, may become accidentally hooked or entangled in fishing line. Cast with Care materials provide anglers with tips to reduce or prevent harmful interactions with marine life and have a better day on the water.

Cast with Care materials:

  • Laminated wallet cards and stickers contain tips to avoid harmful interactions between marine life and recreational fishing gear, as well as important phone numbers to report an injured or entangled dolphin, sea turtle, or sawfish.
  • Posters are available for businesses interested in posting these important tips and reporting phone numbers.
