Protected Resources Division
The Protected Resources Division is responsible for the conservation, protection, and recovery of marine mammals and endangered and threatened species. We implement the Marine Mammal Protection Act (MMPA) and Endangered Species Act (ESA).
Through policy, management, and public outreach, the Protected Resources Division strives to ensure the recovery and survival of protected marine species for future generations in the waters of the southeastern United States, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
