Science Priorities

One of five goals in SERO’s FY16-20 Strategic Plan is to improve management of NOAA trust resources by acquiring and applying the best available science.  To advance this goal, we worked collaboratively with NOAA Fisheries’ Southeast Fisheries Science Center to systematically identify and prioritize the key science activities required to inform management decisions.  This priority-setting exercise is intended to:

Our science priorities are summarized below.  There is no significance to the order in which they are presented.  They incorporate feedback we received from our partners and constituents during a 30-day public comment period, and may be used to inform a suite of activities over a multi-year schedule, including the scope of grant awards, new project-specific contracts and awards, and out-year budget formulation.
